How to Measure Outside Mount Blinds
To properly mount blinds outside the window casting, 2" of flat surface is required to affix the brackets.
WIDTH
Measure the exact width to be covered from left to right and add 3-5 for maximum light control and privacy. If the blind is to be mounted to trim or faming around the window, it is necessary to measure from the trims outside edge left to right then deduct 1/4 inch for the end-mounted brackets. Measure to the nearest an 1/8 of an inch. This is the width you will order. Our factory will take NO DEDUCTIONS OR ADDITIONS on outside mount blinds. Its a Must to add for overlaps.
HEIGHT
Measure the exact height of the window opening to be covered from the top to the bottom add 4 to 6 to allow space for mounting brackets (For minimum space for mounting the brackets, please see chart below) and optimum light control and privacy.It is necessary to give the measurement to an 1/8 of an inch.This is the width you will order.Make sure to take into consideration any obstructions such as locks, molding, cranks, and trim.NO DEDUCTIONS OR ADDITIONS on outside mount blinds.Its a Must to add for overlaps.
